FaZe Clan faced another setback in the VCT Challengers 2 main event as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Luminosity Gaming, despite substituting POACH with flyuh.
Luminosity Gaming Takes the Lead
The best-of-three series started with Luminosity winning on their map pick, Fracture. Bdog delivered an impressive performance on Chamber with a 1.33 K/D, securing 20 kills with only 15 deaths. Luminosity took an early lead, winning five of the first six rounds. FaZe Clan fought back and eventually tied the game 11-11. However, Luminosity closed out the match with the last two rounds, winning 13-11.
Overtime Victory for Luminosity
For the second map, FaZe Clan chose Icebox and managed to reach halftime with a tie. Luminosity initially gained an advantage after the half, but FaZe Clan made a comeback to force overtime. In the end, Luminosity secured a two-round advantage over FaZe Clan, winning the map and the series. mada’s outstanding performance as Raze, with a 1.6 K/D and nearly 30 kills in 28 rounds, played a significant role in Luminosity’s victory.
Group Standings and Future Matches
With this loss, FaZe Clan’s group record falls to 0-2, while Luminosity Gaming takes the top spot in Group B with a 2-0 record. Four more teams in the group will play this weekend. FaZe Clan will have another opportunity next weekend when they face off against Cloud9. On the other hand, Luminosity sets its sights on Evil Geniuses next week, hoping to secure a perfect 3-0 start in VCT Challengers 2.
