FaZe and Rise Knocked out in Lower Bracket of NA VCT Challenger Playoffs

Rise and FaZe Clan Knocked Out of VCT Challengers Playoffs, Miss Out on VCT Berlin

The esteemed VALORANT rosters of Rise and FaZe Clan have suffered early exits from the VCT Challengers Playoffs, ending their hopes of competing at VCT Berlin.

The North American region’s VCT Challenger Playoffs feature a highly competitive lineup of teams, making it unsurprising when top-rated teams are eliminated early in the competition.

However, both Rise and FaZe have qualified for the Last Chance Qualifiers for VCT Champions, the VALORANT equivalent of League of Legends’ Worlds tournament.

Towards the end of their second matches of the day, both Rise and FaZe seemed to lose momentum. They each played two intense best-of-three series. Rise secured a 2-1 victory against TSM before being outlasted in a grueling match against XSET, mainly due to the impressive performances of Rory “dephh” Jackson. FaZe defeated Luminosity in their first match but fell short against Envy, losing 2-1. Despite limiting the impact of Envy’s new star player Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, FaZe couldn’t secure a win.

Fortunately, both teams will have another opportunity to compete in VCT Champions. Envy and XSET will face off in a knockout match on August 13, with the winner securing a spot at VCT Berlin. The other two qualifying spots based on tournament placement have already been secured by 100 Thieves and Sentinels, who will meet in the upper bracket finals, also scheduled for August 13.

VCT Berlin is set to start on September 9 and run until September 19. The date for the Last Chance Qualifier has not been announced publicly.
