Fans fear caster curse as Paper Rex prepares for final rounds of VALORANT Champions.

VALORANT Champions 2023: Top Teams’ Win Rates Linked to VCT Casters

As we approach the final stage of VALORANT Champions 2023, the competition is getting intense. Paper Rex and Evil Geniuses are battling it out in the upper bracket, while Fnatic and LOUD are fighting in the lower bracket. However, an interesting piece of trivia has caught the attention of fans. The win rates of the top four teams seem to be directly linked to the VCT caster team, leading to concerns about the dreaded caster curse affecting the teams’ performance.

Just two days before the epic matchups between Paper Rex vs. Evil Geniuses and Fnatic vs. LOUD on August 22, Paper Rex tweeted the win rates of all four teams based on the VCT caster duos since Reykjavík 2021. One caster duo stands out from the rest – Lauren “Pansy” Scott and Michael “hypoc” Robins.

According to the data, Pansy and hypoc have cast 13 of Fnatic’s international matches, all of which the dominant European team has won. On the other hand, Paper Rex has a 0-5 record with Pansy and hypoc as the casters. This has made Paper Rex fans worried, and they are now pleading for the duo not to cast their games, especially if the grand finals end up pitting the two teams against each other.

DRX, who were eliminated by Fnatic just days ago, also joined the conversation by speculating that a caster curse might have played a role in their Champions run.

It was Pansy and hypoc who cast the DRX vs. Fnatic elimination game on August 20, and true to the streak, Fnatic advanced to the lower bracket semifinals against LOUD after a thrilling three-map series.
