‘Exciting Updates on Competitive VALORANT Experience’ set to Arrive at the Start of Episode 3

VALORANT Ranked Queues to be Addressed in Episode Three, Riot Reveals

Players have expressed frustration with high-level ranked queues in VALORANT for months, sparking discussions on social media platforms. In the recent “Ask VALORANT” blog, Riot announced that more information regarding ranked queues will be shared at the beginning of Episode Three.

Jon Walker, competitive designer at Riot, stated that splitting the queues is not the ideal solution. Riot is concerned that having separate queues would diminish the achievements of players in one of the queues. Walker emphasized that maintaining competitive integrity is a top priority for Riot’s decision-making process.

Riot is actively working on creating a high-stakes competitive experience for teams, and further details will be provided at the start of Episode Three.

In contrast to other tactical shooters where third parties handle “competitive” queues, Riot is unlikely to go down that route. However, similar competitive experiences may be introduced in the future to enhance the VALORANT ranked system.
