Evil Geniuses has pulled off a surprising victory against Version1 in the lower bracket of North America’s VCT Game Changers Series Three, ending their reign as the top team. This 3-1 win also guarantees Evil Geniuses a spot in the VALORANT Game Changers World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, in November.
Evil Geniuses’ Historic Run
Yesterday, Evil Geniuses made history by eliminating Shopify Rebellion from the Grand Finals for the first time in Game Changers history. This achievement holds a special significance for team veterans Lorrian “Lorri” Elad and Melisa “Theia” Mundorff.
A Triumphant Victory
Evil Geniuses’ victory is a testament to their skill and determination. They will now travel to Brazil for the Game Changers World Championship.
The Personal Journey of Lorri
Lorri’s journey to this victory has not been easy. Despite being a core member of Shopify Rebellion for two years, she was dropped from the squad in September. She had doubts about finding a new team until she joined Evil Geniuses just a week before the qualifiers. Her experience facing off against Version1’s core players played a crucial role in their success.
Historic Achievement for Theia
Theia, new to captaining a team, has shown her capabilities in this historic run. She started her professional career in FPS titles at a young age and transitioned from CS:GO to VALORANT. This is her first time leading a team, and she has proven herself to be more than capable.
Evil Geniuses, along with Lorri and Theia, will have the opportunity to prove themselves further in the upcoming VALORANT Game Changers World Championship starting on November 28. They will enter as North America’s second seed, with Version1 securing the top spot with their performances throughout the 2023 circuit.
