EQ Cerise Disqualified from VCT Game Changers for Suspected Cheating as IGL Denies Ruling, Criticizes Opponents

Riot Overrules Result of VALORANT Match Due to Prohibited Tool Usage

Riot has overturned the result of a lower bracket closed qualifier VALORANT match at NA VCT Game Changers Three after detecting the use of prohibited third-party tools by a player on EQ Cerise.

The announcement was made by Riot following EQ Cerise’s 2-1 victory over CLG Red in the lower bracket, a victory that would have eliminated CLG Red from the event.

EQ Cerise Disqualified, CLG Red Granted the Victory

As a result of their prohibited tool usage, EQ Cerise has been disqualified from the event. CLG Red has been granted the victory and will advance through the lower bracket.

Comical Response from CLG Red on Twitter

After Riot made its decision, CLG Red posted a comical response on Twitter, showing themselves getting resurrected by Sage.

Further Investigation and Potential Punishments

A further investigation is expected to take place following the conclusion of the VCT Game Changers closed qualifier. This could result in additional punishments for members of EQ Cerise, who had reached the closed qualifier via an open qualifier but forfeited their second-round upper bracket match to TSM X.

Amber, the IGL of EQ Cerise, responded on Twitter, disputing the ruling and calling out the CLG Red players. Amber claimed that the claim made by Riot’s anti-cheat program, Vanguard, is false and that they would have won the match anyway.

This is the latest controversy surrounding the Game Changers series, which has previously seen suspensions issued for harassment and controversies regarding the age requirement.
