EG’s Pistol Dominance in Tokyo Translates to VCT Masters Domination

Evil Geniuses Dominate with High Pistol Win Rate in VALORANT

One team from VCT Masters Tokyo is making a strong impact with their outstanding pistol win rate. Evil Geniuses, who are making their international debut, have been defeating some of the best teams in the world with their proficiency in pistol rounds. In their recent match against Team Liquid, they won both pistol rounds on both maps, leading to a 2-0 victory in the series.

Evil Geniuses’ performance in pistol rounds goes beyond their success against Team Liquid. Since the start of the group stage, they have won 81 percent of their pistol rounds, which is an impressive feat. In addition, they have one of the largest sample sizes among the playoff teams.

This dominant performance not only applies to pistol rounds, but also to the bonus rounds that follow. Despite starting with inferior weapons, Evil Geniuses have won the third round in 69 percent of the cases where they won the first two rounds. This shows their ability to capitalize on their early advantage and maintain their momentum.

Winning both pistols and bonus rounds allows Evil Geniuses to secure dominant halves in VALORANT, such as their Fracture match against Team Liquid. They achieved a staggering 11-1 lead in the first half, making the second half a mere formality in their 13-2 victory. This one-sided map was unexpected, especially for the number one seed from EMEA.

EG’s Only Losses in Pistol Rounds Came from Liquid and LOUD

The only teams to have defeated Evil Geniuses in pistol rounds so far are Team Liquid (twice) and LOUD (once). Notably, one of Liquid’s victories was secured through an impressive 4K play by Corbin “C0M” Lee.

Evil Geniuses’ Strong Pistol Game Sets Them Apart in Tokyo

Other VALORANT teams participating in the Tokyo tournament should start fearing Evil Geniuses when it comes to pistol rounds. Their ability to excel with Classics, Ghosts, Frenzies, and Sheriffs has become a key factor in their dominance over the competition.

Evil Geniuses will continue their journey in Tokyo’s upper bracket final on June 20. Meanwhile, Team Liquid will face NRG earlier that same day, with their VCT Masters lives on the line.
