Familiar Finalists Fall, Evil Geniuses Rise in VALORANT Game Changers North American Series Three
The VALORANT Game Changers North American scene witnessed an unexpected turn of events as Evil Geniuses (EG) GC secured their spot in the grand final, leaving Version1 and Shopify Rebellion in disbelief.
EG GC faced a setback in the first round of the tournament when they were defeated by Shopify. However, they sought revenge in the lower bracket final and emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, including an impressive 13-0 victory on the fourth map.
Strong Performance by a New Squad
The EG GC squad, formed just 20 days ago, showcased their strength by eliminating the reigning regional second-place finishers in dominant fashion. Theia, who took on the role of in-game leader for the first time, brought her years of experience in competitive FPS games to the table. Lorri, a core member of Shopify Rebellion, also contributed her knowledge of the team’s strategies, having previously played alongside them in Series One of this year’s Game Changers season.
Grand Final Showdown
In the Series Three grand final, EG GC will face off against Version1. A win for EG GC not only secures their place in history but also qualifies them for this year’s Game Changers World Championship.
If EG GC fails to defeat Version1, Shopify Rebellion will earn the automatic qualification, granting them a second appearance at the global LAN event.
The grand final is set to take place tomorrow, Oct. 8, at 4pm CT.
