EG Removes VALORANT Game Changers Player for Making ‘Inappropriate and Misogynistic’ Remarks

Evil Geniuses Removes High-Profile Player from VALORANT Game Changers Roster

The North American VALORANT scene experienced a shocking turn of events today as Evil Geniuses decided to remove a well-known player from its Game Changers roster. This action was taken due to the player making hateful comments that go against the league’s values.

Just a few days after defeating Version1 to win the 2023 VCT GC Series Three title, Evil Geniuses made the announcement on October 13. They have also stated their intention to work with Riot Games regarding their participation in the GC Championship in São Paulo, Brazil later this year.

Upon learning of recent comments by a player on their Game Changer roster that were deemed “severely inappropriate, hateful, and misogynistic,” Evil Geniuses took immediate action by removing the player. The organization firmly believes that such behavior has no place within their ranks.

Although the player in question was not named, allegations have surfaced against EG’s keenc, supported by evidence that aligns with the description. These allegations were separately posted on Twitter on October 11 within a short span of time.

One individual provided a video showcasing their message history, where keenc allegedly made comments implying that the user is underage and would be their “type” if they were older and physically active.

In a different post, keenc allegedly encouraged another person to post “more thirst traps,” suggesting that they do it frequently and considering it as “advice.” The same individual claims that keenc persistently tried to engage in discussions about sexual topics. Additionally, another case has been reported, where keenc pressured someone into making inappropriate noises.

In a now-deleted statement, Keenc directly addressed these allegations, expressing remorse and offering an apology for their actions. They stated, “I’m disgusted about it… I hope I have moved past this and can do better.”

Keenc demonstrated exceptional performance throughout EG’s victorious Series, using Jett and Raze interchangeably and achieving a rating of 1.42 and a 300 ACS (Average Combat Score) according to vlr.gg. The GC World Championship is set to begin on November 28, giving EG just over a month to find a new fifth player before representing North America in Brazil.

A Safe Haven for Women and Marginalized Genders

Game Changers serves as a safe and inclusive environment for women and individuals who identify with marginalized genders. With the removal of the player from EG’s roster for the reasons mentioned, it is hoped that the community can continue fostering these values.
