DRX Takes Down FPX 2-1 in VALORANT Masters Copenhagen

The highly anticipated clash between DRX and FPX had both teams seeking a crucial win to enhance their international reputation. Instead of banning Icebox, DRX surprised everyone by banning Split and Ascent, possibly to avoid FPX on their strongest maps. The game started on Haven, with DRX opting for an older composition and choosing Astra over Omen.

Despite an initial 4-1 lead for FPX, DRX turned the tide with the help of Rb’s consistent performance and well-placed Operator shots. At halftime, DRX held a 7-5 advantage. While FPX had some miracle clutches and thrifty round wins, DRX proved to be the better team overall thanks to their strong gameplay.

FPX showed impressive resilience in the second half of Haven, securing a 13-8 victory on DRX’s map pick. However, on FPX’s map pick, Fracture, DRX dominated, winning eight consecutive rounds and ultimately closing out the map with a 13-6 scoreline. Stax played a key role, excelling on KAY/O and notching kills while supporting his teammates.

On Breeze, stax continued to shine, playing Skye this time and delivering solid performances. FPX struggled to defend against DRX’s site entries, with their only round wins coming from post-plant executes. DRX led 9-3 at halftime. The second half flew by as DRX secured the map win, propelled by Stax’s dominant plays.

With a 3-0 sweep, DRX secured their spot in the playoffs. The team celebrated MaKo’s clutch play in round 16, waving across the stage to trash talk their opponents. Nicknamed “The Kings of Korea,” DRX will eagerly await their playoff opponent after the group stage concludes on July 13.
