DRX stages remarkable comeback against FURIA in VALORANT Champions group stage

DRX Makes Incredible Comeback Against FURIA in VALORANT Champions

The first match of the day in the VALORANT Champions tournament showcased an impressive comeback by DRX against FURIA. Despite a seemingly bleak outlook for DRX in the first map, they rallied and turned the tides in their favor.

In round 16, DRX found themselves in a dire situation with a score of 12-4 in favor of FURIA on Ascent. However, DRX defied expectations and mounted a remarkable comeback. They won eight consecutive rounds, matching FURIA’s initial success, and pushed the map into overtime. After a back-and-forth struggle, DRX ultimately secured victory, making it one of the most impressive comebacks in VCT history.

Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul played an exceptional role on Jett, particularly when wielding the Operator. He showcased incredible skill, pulling off several near-Aces and delivering some of the most remarkable plays of the match. In one standout moment, he eliminated four members of FURIA within a mere 10 seconds, leaving spectators in awe.

In the second map on Haven, DRX dominated FURIA, securing a resounding victory with a final score of 13-4. BuZz played a crucial role in leading the team to success, ending the map with an impressive K/D ratio of 24-7.

Next, DRX will advance to the winner’s match tomorrow, where they will face the winner between Fnatic and 100 Thieves. On the other hand, FURIA will face an elimination match on Sept. 5, where they will need to secure a victory to stay in the tournament. It will be an uphill battle for FURIA, as Fnatic and 100 Thieves are considered top-tier teams from strong regions.
