DRX prevails against Talon, advances to VCT LOCK//IN semifinal

Talon Esports shines in VCT LOCK//IN tournament

Talon Esports, despite missing their star player and fielding a substitute, made a strong impression at the VCT LOCK//IN tournament. Even in defeat, they pushed the kings of Korea, DRX, to their limits in the final match of the Alpha bracket.

In their first match of the series on Fracture, Talon showed their strength by withstanding DRX’s strong punches. With fearless aggressiveness, Talon claimed map one with a score of 13-10.

The series remained close on Ascent, with both sides tied 6-6 at half-time. Kim “Zest” Gi-seok’s pistol ace at the start of the second half helped DRX dominate defensively, not allowing Talon to win a single round in the second half. DRX secured a 13-6 victory on Ascent, leading the VALORANT series to Icebox.

On Icebox, Talon had the chance to stun DRX, but despite a strong start, they couldn’t match DRX’s dominance on the attack. DRX claimed the map 13-10, winning the series 2-1. Talon displayed an aggressive attack style similar to their performance on Fracture, but it wasn’t enough.

Talon had a strong showing throughout the tournament, winning both their earlier series 2-0. Meanwhile, DRX continued their winning streak with another successful series victory.

With the conclusion of this match, the VCT LOCK//IN enters a two-day break before the start of the Omega bracket. The Omega bracket is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 11am CT, with Team Liquid facing Team Secret. LOUD and DRX will also compete in their future VALORANT matchups.
