Designed for LAN: How 100 Thieves’ VALORANT Team Was Created to Thrive Offline

The VALORANT Champions Tour: 100 Thieves’ Journey to LAN Competitions

The first two stages of the VALORANT Champions Tour had a familiar story for 100 Thieves. The team, composed of experienced players from the NA CS:GO scene, showed promise in the initial stages but fell short in the regional finals. However, after qualifying for Masters Three Berlin, the team’s focus has shifted to competing on LAN—the ultimate goal.

During a post-match interview, 100 Thieves’ VALORANT pro and former CS:GO star Spencer “Hiko” Martin confirmed that the team was built with offline events in mind. He acknowledged that online results don’t truly showcase the roster’s potential and expressed excitement for upcoming LAN events.

“We built this roster for LAN,” Hiko said. “We added some of the most experienced Counter-Strike players who have been in countless big event finals. There’s a lot of experience and knowledge.”

The Valorant team of 100 Thieves was carefully chosen based on their individual skills and experiences. Each player brings a unique set of abilities, contributing to the team’s success.

Hiko, known for his clutch performances in CS:GO, plays agents such as Viper and Sova, which are effective in post-plant scenarios. He often finds himself in clutch situations, relying on his experience and composure to deliver for his team.

Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk, although lacking LAN experience compared to his teammates, has showcased his star potential in online events. As the sole duelist on the roster, he brings versatility and fearless playmaking to the team.

The team has been making efforts to prepare for a return to LAN events. They have been simulating the LAN environment during boot camps to develop chemistry and improve their performance. For the Stage Three: Challengers Playoffs, the team relocated to Dallas to ensure the best ping possible.

Hiko believes that LAN competitions in VALORANT are a different beast compared to online play. Without the latency issues and peeker’s advantage, the game dynamics change, and players discover new strategies.

With their experience and preparations, 100 Thieves’ VALORANT LAN debut is highly anticipated and expected to be a success. The team’s journey to LAN competitions marks a significant milestone in their pursuit of excellence in the VALORANT Champions Tour.
