Derke solidifies himself as top VALORANT player globally following Fnatic’s domination over Sentinels at VCT LOCK//IN.

Sentinels vs. Fnatic: A Dominant Performance by Derke

The Sentinels vs. Fnatic match at VCT LOCK//IN today was a one-sided affair. Despite some technical issues during the stream, Sentinels found themselves on the receiving end of a crushing defeat led by Fnatic’s star player, Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev.

In their choice of Haven, Fnatic showcased their superiority. Although TenZ showed glimpses of his former brilliance, Derke proved that he is still at the top of his game as Jett. Sentinels struggled on the attack, with Derke taking advantage of their mistakes repeatedly. Leo and Chronicle also played their part, achieving a perfect record of successful opening kills. This led to a convincing 13-6 victory for Fnatic on Haven.

On Split, Sentinels showed signs of a comeback on the attack side, especially with TenZ’s unexpected pick of Sage. However, Fnatic closed out their defensive half with three consecutive rounds and dominated the attack side, only dropping one round in the second half.

Derke’s performance was outstanding throughout the series, recording 43 kills and only 23 deaths across the two maps. His exceptional play contributed to Fnatic’s overall success. However, Sentinels, particularly Zekken and dephh from the former XSET duo, struggled, finishing with a combined kill/death ratio of only 0.5. Analyst RedgaR noted that Sentinels had difficulty executing strategies and finding openings in Fnatic’s defense.

With Sentinels’ early exit, only one North American team remains in the competition at VCT LOCK//IN. 100T will face FUT Esports after narrowly defeating EDward Gaming yesterday. Fnatic will move forward to face the winner of FURIA vs. T1.
