DarkZero Esports Signs Jamal “jammyz” Bangash to Complete VALORANT Roster
Las Vegas-based DarkZero Esports has added Jamal “jammyz” Bangash to its VALORANT team just in time for the first NA VCT open qualifier of the 2022 season.
DarkZero, known for its success in North American Rainbow Six Siege, entered the VALORANT scene late last year by acquiring the Kooky Koalas roster in June. The Koalas were the top unsigned North American team in VALORANT, making them the only team without an organization to reach an NA Challengers main event all year.
Unfortunately, the team did not succeed in reaching another Challengers main event after signing Jamal “jammyz” Bangash. In September, DarkZero parted ways with Nick “Harmon” Harmon and coach Zack “huuaw” Solomon. Over the following months, the organization tested several different players during various NSG open events. After competing with jammyz in recent open tournaments, DarkZero decided to permanently add him to the roster.
Jammyz has experience in competitive VALORANT play. He previously played for beastcoast from late 2020 to mid-2021. He was also briefly acquired as a stand-in for Version1 during their run at Master Reykjavk. Jammyz primarily played as Viper and delivered strong performances against teams like Crazy Raccoon, Team Liquid, and NUTURN.
Following his performance in Iceland, jammyz tried out for Evil Geniuses and Kansas City Pioneers but has now found a permanent home in DarkZero. He has primarily played Chamber in recent matches with DZ and has impressed with standout performances against SHIKIGAMI and Knights Academy.
DarkZero and jammyz will compete in the NA VCT open qualifier bracket starting on Jan. 27.
