Could Sentinels Be the Surprising Contender for Americas LCQ and VALORANT Champions?

Sentinels Prepares for VCT Americas LCQ

Fans of VALORANT are always eager to hear the latest news about Sentinels. This organization, which was initially supported by streamers and Fortnite World Cup winners, has become a prominent figure in the VALORANT scene since late 2020. They have experienced both great successes and disappointing lows.

Can Sentinels Secure a Spot in Champions?

Currently, the buzz surrounding Sentinels revolves around their preparations for the VCT Americas Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). As the name suggests, this is the last opportunity for partnered teams from the region to qualify for Champions. There have been hints of audacious agent picks, and Sentinels may very well be a solid pick to win it all.

Sentinels Impresses in LCQ Scrims

During the LCQ scrims, Sentinels has emerged as one of the top-performing teams. In-game leaders from Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses have praised Sentinels’ strong performance. However, there is a possibility that such comments could jinx their chances, as Sentinels recently beat the Masters Tokyo grand finalists in scrims.

Confidence and Early Preparation

The Sentinels camp is also brimming with confidence. Despite their reputation for not grinding, head coach Kaplan revealed that the team had been working hard. He noted that certain teams had only just begun preparing for the LCQ, while Sentinels started scrimming just five days after the Americas league ended.

Although Sentinels face a challenging task ahead, they have a slight momentum advantage over 100 Thieves. If Sentinels lose to 100T, their run in the tournament will come to an end. However, 100 Thieves have recently struggled, losing three of their last four matches. Sentinels are taking a gamble by relying on Marved’s shot-calling ability and potentially assigning TenZ to play as Reyna, a strategy that has only worked for one team in the VCT.

With the LCQ approaching, Sentinels fans cling to the confidence of their coaches and the praise from in-game leaders. They have high hopes for the team and are relieved that Sentinels did not bring in a retired streamer with no professional VALORANT experience.

The VCT Americas LCQ will take place from July 15 to 23.
