A New Format for the Game Changers Series
Last year, Riot Games revealed their plans for the 2023 Game Changers series, aiming to create a path to the World Championship for all players. Starting this year, VALORANT players can progress through the Academy and Emergents competitions to reach the top. Riot designed this new circuit as the ideal way for players to go pro, providing them with opportunities to enter the larger VCT ecosystem.
The Main Event and Group Stage
The VCT Game Changers main event will include an open qualifier in April, followed by the group stage. Only 16 teams, including the top four from the previous year, will advance to this stage. In the group stage, the teams will be divided into two groups and compete in a best-of-three single round-robin format. After the first VCT GC EMEA event crowns its winner, the first Contenders series will follow. Teams from all over Europe can participate in the open qualifiers, but only two will advance to the second event of VCT Game Changers EMEA.
