Complete Patch 4.01 Highlights for VALORANT

Riot Games is releasing Patch 4.01 for VALORANT today. Although it’s not a major update, the developers have made some changes to the Ares, a weapon that received a buff in Patch 4.0.

The buff made the Ares noticeably stronger, resulting in its increased popularity in games. However, Patch 4.01 will bring some adjustments to the Ares. Its price will be raised from 1,550 to 1,600 and its pitch recoil will be increased. Additionally, the way the bullets spread has been altered. From now on, using the Ares while crouched will be more beneficial.

In addition to the Ares, the VALORANT devs have also made changes to the game’s melee. The right-click hitboxes are now 1.5 times larger, and the left-click hitboxes are now larger than the right-click hitboxes. Furthermore, targets closer to the center of your tactical knife attacks will be hit first.

Moving beyond gameplay adjustments, Riot has introduced a new feature called the Muted Word List. This allows players to enter words or sentences they don’t want to see in the game. The implementation of this feature aims to address players who find ways to harass others using inappropriate language.

Bugs

Weapons

Esports features

Performance

– Fixed an issue where performance charts that require NVIDIA Reflex were displayed and could not be hidden.

Social updates

– Muted Word List is a new section in your settings where you can add words or phrases you personally don’t want to see in-game.
– Players often find ways around automated bad word detection systems, so Riot wants players’ help to improve their detections.
– By leveraging the lists created by players, Riot aims to make chat less toxic by comparing them across regions and improving their own detection system.
– Your game won’t be banned from chat for entering words or phrases in the Muted Word List.
– Let’s work together to make VALORANT a better place for everyone.
