Comparison of Time to Kill between Vandal and Phantom using only body shots in VALORANT

Vandal vs. Phantom: Which is the Superior Assault Rifle in VALORANT?

A hotly debated topic in the VALORANT community is which assault rifle reigns supreme: the Vandal or the Phantom. Today, we have one fan’s take on the matter.

UndyingPax, a dedicated player of VALORANT, has created a chart comparing the time to kill (TTK) for both assault rifles using only body shots. You can find their findings on Reddit.

The chart takes into account all ranges, from zero to 50 meters, as well as different health values. According to the player’s analysis, the Phantom generally has a faster time to kill with body shots.

For example, the Phantom has a quicker TTK from zero to 30 meters against a target with 100 or 125 health. Additionally, shooting an opponent’s torso from 30 to 50 meters can also result in a faster kill for a 125-health enemy. However, the Vandal proves to be more effective at eliminating opponents with 150 health from longer distances.

It’s worth noting that the Vandal is a better choice for one-tapping enemies. Since there is no damage drop off from range, a headshot can instantly eliminate an opponent. On the other hand, the Phantom requires a headshot and a bodyshot on a fully-shielded target from a range of 15 meters or more.

Other factors should also be considered. The Phantom features a silencer, larger magazine, and a more forgiving recoil pattern.

Famous former CS:GO professional player, shroud, refers to the Phantom as the “better gun” but admits that both rifles have their situational strengths. The Vandal excels in attacking scenarios where long-range encounters are common, while the Phantom is more suitable for defending and close-range engagements.
