Coach Mini discusses Fnatic’s departure from VCT Masters Reykjavík: ‘Our reliance on a system and Derke is evident’

Fnatic Out of VCT Masters Reykjavík After Losses to Ninjas in Pyjamas and ZETA DIVISION

Fnatic has been eliminated from the VCT Masters Reykjavík competition after being defeated by Ninjas in Pyjamas and ZETA DIVISION. Despite several setbacks, including the need for substitutes, the team persevered and participated in the tournament. However, after their exit, Fnatic’s coach Jacob “mini” Harris addressed the team’s performance and the reasons behind their underwhelming showing in a post-match press conference.

Weakened Roster Impacted Fnatic’s Chances

In the press conference, Coach mini openly acknowledged that fielding substitutes Fearoth and H1ber instead of BraveAF and Derke significantly hindered Fnatic’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs. The team’s lack of experience was apparent during Masters Reykjavik, according to mini.

“We essentially witnessed a new team playing the game, especially on such a major stage. That’s what happens in such situations,” he stated.

Dependency on Derke Highlighted

mini also admitted that Fnatic’s system heavily relies on Derke. The coach expressed concerns about the team’s heavy reliance on one player and acknowledged that Masters Reykjavik serves as a valuable lesson for the roster.

“It’s no secret that we depend on Derke and our system. Moving forward, it boils down to hard work. This experience serves as a reality check that without such a system, we face these consequences,” mini explained.
