Cloud9’s VALORANT star serves a reminder to fans of his exceptional skills

Cloud9 Performing Above Expectations in VCT Americas

Just a few weeks into the 2023 VCT Americas season, the North American VALORANT teams are all tied with a 1-2 record. However, there’s one team that has exceeded expectations. Cloud9 is currently sitting at 2-1, with a map differential of 5-2, placing them in second position behind LOUD, the reigning world champions. Cloud9, along with MIBR, is the only team to have taken a map off LOUD this season. The individual performance of Nathan “leaf” Orf has been particularly impressive.

Leaf has been a standout player for Cloud9, showcasing his skills and reminding VALORANT fans of his talent. He has consistently performed well in every map except for one loss against LOUD on Pearl. His best performances so far have been on Skye, with an impressive +300 ACS in both Skye games against EG and LOUD. Coach mCe has praised Leaf’s versatility, highlighting his exceptional performance on duelist agents like Raze and Jett.

The stats back up Leaf’s impressive performance as well. He ranks in the top three across VCT Americas in ACS and damage per round, seventh overall in K/D, and sixth in first blood success rate, according to stats site VLR.GG. It seems like we are only just beginning to see the resurgence of Leaf on Jett, as his recent pick on Ascent against 100T was his first pro match as Jett since the NA Last Chance Qualifier in August.

Leaf is not lacking in confidence either, stating in an interview with TheSpike.GG that he believes Cloud9 is better than most teams and should not have any trouble playing against them. Cloud9 will have the opportunity to prove this statement true during a challenging super week, where they will face off against NRG and FURIA.
