Cloud9 completes its VALORANT starting roster for 2024.

Cloud9 Revamps VALORANT Roster for 2024 Season

Cloud9 had an disappointing 2023 season, but they are ready for a fresh start next year with a new and improved VALORANT roster. The team announced today that they are bringing back some familiar faces and introducing new players as they gear up for the VCT Americas championship and beyond.

The popular organization has signed Francis “OXY” Hoang, Maxim “wippie” Shepelev, and veteran in-game leader Anthony “vanity” Malaspina who will be returning to the team after the 2023 LOCK//IN tournament. They have also added Ian “Immi” Harding as the head coach for the new year.

Wippie and OXY previously played for G2 Esports in 2023, with Immi as their coach. Although they didn’t qualify for Ascension, both players showed promise during their time with the team. OXY is a young and talented player in North America, while wippie brings experience from his career as a VALORANT and CSGO pro.

C9 had a rough start to the season with LOCK//IN 2023. After a 2-0 loss to DRX, the team made changes by dropping yay and vanity before the regular season. With a revamped roster, C9 finished in fourth place, establishing themselves as a top team in the Americas.

However, they fell short of making it to the playoffs and Champions, prompting the organization to make more changes in search for the right combination. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the new roster in action, as the team will be competing in the TEN VALORANT Global Invitational from Oct. 7 to 8.
