Cloud9 Blue recruits vanity

VALORANT In-Game Leader Vanity Joins Cloud9 Blue

Cloud9 Blue has officially announced the addition of VALORANT in-game leader Antony “vanity” Malaspina to their roster.

Reunion with former teammates

Vanity’s move to Cloud9 Blue comes as no surprise, as it was previously reported by Upcomer and RushBMedia. This transfer will reunite him with his former teammates Nathan “leaf” Orf and Erick “Xeppaa” Bach from Chaos’ CS:GO team. With Vanity joining, C9 Blue now boasts a seven-player roster.

Impressive performance in VALORANT

Vanity made the switch from Counter-Strike to VALORANT earlier this year with Version1, his first team in Riot Games’ FPS. He led the North American team to a second-place finish in the NA VCT Stage Two Challengers Finals and an impressive top-six placement at VCT Masters Two Reykjavik. Notably, they defeated Team Liquid, even with a stand-in player. The replacement for Vanity on Version1 has yet to be announced.

Potential roster changes

According to Upcomer, Cloud9 Blue is likely to adopt a six-man roster going forward, with Rickly “floppy” Kemery expected to step down from the active roster. This would allow for players to be swapped in and out depending on the event. Vanity’s addition to the team will strengthen their firepower and is expected to take on the role of in-game leader.

It is important to note that C9 Blue did not qualify for the NA VCT Stage Three Challengers Playoffs and currently does not have a spot in the VCT Champions Last Chance Qualifier.
