Cloud9 adds experienced player and veteran to VALORANT roster overhaul

Cloud9 Makes Roster Changes Before 2024 VCT Americas Kickoff

Cloud9, after failing to reach the top ranks of the 2024 VCT Americas Kickoff, has decided to make some significant changes to its VALORANT roster for the upcoming first split. The team has signed Kaleb “moose” Jayne and Dylan “runi” Cade, replacing Jake “jakee” Anderson and Maxim “wippie” Shepelev. Although moose will be joining C9 for the first time, runi will be returning to the roster after leaving at the end of 2023.

The New Cloud9 Roster

moose and runi will be joining a talented trio consisting of Francis “OXY” Hoang, Erick “Xeppaa” Bach, and veteran in-game leader Anthony “Vanity” Malaspina. Vanity, with experience playing for teams like Version1, Shopify Rebellion, and in CS:GO, will be leading the team.

Cloud9’s History of Quick Roster Changes

Cloud9 is known for making swift decisions regarding its VALORANT roster. In 2023, the team made significant moves by parting ways with superstar player Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker after only five months and subsequently dropping Vanity. Interestingly, Vanity has now returned as the organization continues to experiment with its lineup before the first split of the 2024 VCT Americas, where they will face tough opponents such as the defending VCT Masters champions Sentinels, NRG, and G2 Esports.

Building a Strong Team

The new Cloud9 roster will need to quickly find their rhythm and build synergy in order to have a chance at qualifying for the next international tournament of the year.
