Can VALORANT be played on Console? PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch compatibility.

VALORANT: Riot Games’ Free-to-Play FPS May Be Coming to Consoles

VALORANT, the free-to-play first-person shooter developed by Riot Games, has gained a massive following since its PC launch in June 2020.

The game’s popularity has grown so much that even players of popular shooters like CS:GO and Overwatch have started immersing themselves in VALORANT, including professional players.

Although PC players have been enjoying VALORANT for over two years now, console players are hopeful for a release on platforms like PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or even Nintendo Switch at some point in the future.

Is a Console Release on the Horizon for VALORANT?

It appears that VALORANT may indeed be coming to consoles in the near future.

According to a job posting from Riot Games on Nov. 23, 2022, the company is actively seeking a senior game designer to work on VALORANT, with an emphasis on bringing it to consoles. The posting states that the successful candidate will “help bring console game products to the market.”

Additionally, a week prior to the above job posting, Riot Games also posted another vacancy for a game design manager specifically for VALORANT Console. This role involves working with team leads to develop a combat vision for VALORANT on consoles.

While it has not been confirmed which consoles VALORANT will be available on, it seems likely that PlayStation and Xbox will be included. However, the release date for the console version of the game is still unknown.
