C9 Streamer Vienna Experiences Game-Breaking VALORANT Bug, Placed on Opposing Team

Bug Turns VALORANT Player Into a Double Agent for Enemy Team

During the current closed beta for Riot Games’ new first-person shooter, VALORANT, a Cloud9 content creator named Vienna encountered a bug that transformed her into a true double agent for her team.

The Glitch

While playing VALORANT alongside other players, including professional gamers and streamers, Vienna was unexpectedly disconnected from the game. When she reconnected, she found herself on the enemy team and playing as a different character, Sova, instead of her chosen character, Sage.

In-game Communication

Despite being on the enemy team, Vienna was still able to communicate with her original teammates. However, their names appeared in red instead of the usual white, indicating that they were now enemies. Vienna used this secret agent-like advantage to inform her teammates of the enemy team’s plans, leading to an easy win for her friends but a loss for her and her newfound teammates.

Implications and Solutions

This glitch in VALORANT is one of the worst seen so far. Although it is not a common occurrence, Riot Games should be proactive in addressing this issue. If the glitch becomes more frequent, a quick fix patch should be implemented. As the glitch seems to be related to disconnects, investigating and resolving this area should be Riot’s first priority.
