BOOM Esports CEO shares thoughts after being overlooked for VALORANT partnership

BOOM Esports CEO speaks out after missing out on VALORANT partnership

Yesterday, Riot Games announced the list of partnered organizations for the competitive VALORANT scene, which came as a disappointment to BOOM Esports. Despite their success in making it to VCT Champions this year, BOOM Esports was not among the selected organizations.

BOOM Esports CEO expresses disappointment

In an official statement, BOOM Esports CEO Gary Ongko expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support since the team’s launch. However, he also expressed his disappointment in not being selected.

No impact from VCT Champions results

Ongko revealed that they learned about their non-selection before competing in VCT Champions, and the tournament’s results had no impact on the selection process. BOOM Esports was knocked out of the group stage, ranking in the bottom four.

Selection criteria

Riot Games explained that values, commitment to the fanbase, and sustainability were the main criteria considered during the selection process, rather than past results and performance.

Ongko concluded his statement by reaffirming their commitment to VALORANT and hoping to qualify for the Asia-Pacific league through future promotion tournaments. He expressed his gratitude for continued support from the fans.
