Benjyfishy set to face former world champions in VALORANT Challengers following departure from NRG

Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish Joins Enterprise Esports for VALORANT Challengers League East

Former Fortnite superstar, Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish, has signed on with Enterprise Esports to compete in the upcoming VALORANT Challengers League East: Surge split beginning in January. This move comes after leaving NRG and entering free agency to further pursue his goal of competing in professional VALORANT.

Enterprise, a Czech-Slovakian organization with a primarily Czech roster, officially announced Benjyfishy as a roster addition for VCL East: Surge today. This announcement follows a successful warmup event at Grunex Challenge No. 2 over the past weekend, where Enterprise emerged as the winner with three straight 2-0 victories.

During the Grunex Challenge No. 2, Benjyfishy performed well as Killjoy and Viper, primarily playing a supportive role to teammates Minny and aelxiiik, who both had outstanding showings.

The deal between benjyfishy and Enterprise doesn’t appear to be long-term and is likely just for the VCL East: Surge season. However, this could be subject to change depending on the team’s results.

Enterprise was the first announced participant for the VCL East: Surge split, which will feature teams from Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, and Greece, among other countries. The split will also include Acend, the reigning VALORANT world champions, although they will not be competing with the same roster that won the trophy in Berlin in 2021. B8 Esports, the organization created by Dota 2 legend Dendi, will also be competing.

Benjyfishy and Enterprise will compete in an eight-team round-robin regular season, followed by a four-team double-elimination playoff bracket. The season officially begins on January 12, 2023. The top teams from each regional Challengers League will earn a spot in the Ascension tournament in July, where the winner secures a two-year promotion to the VCT EMEA league.

This marks the next step in Benjyfishy’s journey, as he left competitive Fortnite in June of this year to pursue VALORANT. He officially left NRG last week to pursue offers as a free agent in the VALORANT scene.
