Beloved Map is Set to Make a Comeback in VALORANT

Split Returning to VALORANT Map Rotation in January

VALORANT players rejoice as Split is set to make a comeback to the competitive map pool rotation. This popular map, which was one of the original four introduced during the VALORANT beta, will replace Bind and Breeze temporarily in the competitive and unrated queues, as announced by Riot Games.

Split will return to the map rotation in January, along with some exciting changes that will be detailed in Patch 6.0.

While Breeze and Bind will no longer be available for competitive and unrated play, players can still enjoy these maps in custom games, spike rush, and other game modes. However, there is no specific date announced yet for the return of Breeze and Bind to the queues.

Riot Games has plans to improve Breeze to enhance team composition diversity and the viability of agents. They aim to simplify the map’s layout. As for Bind, the decision to temporarily remove it is aimed at diversifying the modes of execution for both attackers and defenders.

Split was temporarily removed from the map pool in June after the introduction of Pearl, the newest map in VALORANT. Riot Games made this decision based on player feedback, update plans, strategic variance, and the integration of Pearl into the map rotation.
