FaZe Clan Sweeps 100 Thieves in VALORANT VCT Challengers Three Final
The FaZe Clan VALORANT roster ended their impressive run at the VCT Challengers Three main event with a 3-0 victory over 100 Thieves, the reigning First Strike champions. The standout player of the final series was FaZe’s Jett main, Andrej “babybay” Francisty.
Surprising Performance by FaZe Clan
FaZe Clan’s success came as a surprise to North American VALORANT fans. The team, composed of Overwatch League veterans, failed to qualify for Challengers One and were eliminated early from the Challengers Two main event.
However, by adopting a more patient approach in Challengers Three compared to their usual ultra-aggressive style, FaZe Clan dominated their opponents. They defeated T1, NRG Esports, and Luminosity before facing 100 Thieves.
Starting with a one-game advantage in the winners bracket, FaZe Clan took control of the game from the beginning. Babybay’s exceptional performance, with eight first kills and only one first death, propelled the team to victory. They completely dominated 100 Thieves, allowing them to win only two consecutive rounds on their chosen map, Icebox, and securing a 13-6 win.
Already leading 2-0, the pressure was on 100 Thieves to attempt a reverse sweep on Bind. The first half saw both teams trading rounds, ending in a 6-6 tie at halftime. However, FaZe Clan showcased their defensive prowess in the second half, denying 100 Thieves any opportunity to plant the spike.
With a dominant second-half performance, FaZe Clan secured a 13-8 victory on Bind, completing a clean sweep of the series. Babybay was named the series MVP, but the entire team contributed to the victory.
This is FaZe Clan’s first major tournament win, and it comes just a week before the Masters tournament.
