Analysis of Most-Picked Agents at VALORANT Masters Two Reykjavík
The first international LAN event for VALORANT, VCT Masters Two Reykjavík, has given fans insight into each region’s meta. While some agent choices were expected, there were a few surprising standouts.
Jett Dominates the Field
Despite different metas in each region, Jett was the most-played agent at Masters Two, with an impressive 80% pick rate. While her popularity dipped slightly on Bind, she was a must-pick for nearly every other map. Jett’s ability to maneuver in the air is perfect for maps like Icebox and Haven, and she excels as the go-to agent for using the Operator on Ascent. Her dash ability also creates opportunities for her team on Split. Notably, Team Liquid skipped Jett on Haven and ran a different comp that worked in their favor against the Brazilian Team Vikings.
Controlling Sites with Killjoy and Viper
Killjoy and Viper were the third and fourth-most picked agents at Masters Two. Killjoy’s strength as a sentinel has seen a rise in prominence, while Viper’s recent buffs have made her a valuable asset. These agents synergize well together and were often chosen to control sites. The usage of both agents on Haven and Icebox was common, with teams like Version1, Liquid, KRU, X10 Esports, Fnatic, and Crazy Raccoon utilizing them effectively. Killjoy was favored on Ascent, while Viper was less popular due to the map’s open spaces and long rotations.
Honorable Mentions
Astra, despite being a contentious addition in NA, was popular on Haven but not picked on Icebox. Raze was the second most-picked duelist, with a high pick rate on Bind. Yoru, although underwhelming, made an appearance and may see increased play with an upcoming balance update.
As VCT continues with the third leg of the circuit next month, the anticipation for Masters Three Berlin grows, promising an even bigger international clash.
