An Exemplary VALORANT Weapon That Highlights the Skill Difference Across Ranks

The Growing Success of the Operator in VALORANT

VALORANT’s highest-skilled players understand the true value of the primary weapons in the game, particularly the Operator sniper rifle. As players climb the ranks, the Operator becomes even more crucial to their success.

According to weapons usage stats from Blitz.gg, the Operator’s ranking in kills per match compared to other weapons increases as players progress to higher ranks.

In the lowest rank, Iron I, the Operator only generates an average of 2.2 kills per match during Episode Six, Act One of competitive play. However, as players advance through the ranks, the Operator’s performance improves.

At Bronze I, the Operator produces an average of 3.2 kills per match, placing it seventh among all weapons. The Operator continues to climb in rank, reaching sixth place in Silver I and Gold I with 3.7 kills, fifth place in Platinum I and Diamond I, and third place in Ascendant I and Immortal I with over four kills per game.

Even at the highest rank, Radiant, the Operator remains the third most used weapon, surpassing the average kills in Immortal I with an impressive 7.7 kills per match.

While it’s not clear whether the Operator is being bought more frequently at higher ranks or if it’s simply being used more effectively, its rise in performance as ranks increase is remarkable.

Therefore, if you aim to reach the top of the ranked ladder, be prepared to face more skilled Operators trying to take you down.
