A Top-Notch VALORANT Controller Player is Seeking Opportunities

Former OpTic VALORANT Player Marved Enters Free Agency

Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, a former player for OpTic VALORANT, announced on Twitter today that he has parted ways with the North American organization and is now entering free agency. In his tweet, he expressed his determination to come back even stronger.

This news comes after Marved’s release from OpTic Gaming, following the organization’s unsuccessful attempt to secure a partnership with Riot Games for the Americas international league in the coming year.

Marved gained recognition as one of the best controller players in the world, showcasing his talent in both international and regional competitions with OpTic. However, his final match with OpTic ended in defeat at the VALORANT Champions tournament, where they lost to their Brazilian rivals, LOUD, in the grand finals.

OpTic’s future as a team came into question after their defeat at Champions. In late September, the organization was denied a partnership slot despite having the strongest team in North America at the time. While OpTic was left disappointed, other prominent organizations such as NRG, Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, and Sentinels received partnership opportunities from Riot.

It’s worth noting that other prominent organizations like TSM, G2, and FaZe also failed to secure a slot in the league.

Marved’s former teammates, Austin “crashies” Roberts, Victor Wong, and in-game leader Pujan “FNS” Mehta, joined NRG along with coach Chet Singh during the offseason transfer window. Meanwhile, Marved remains the only player from the roster who has yet to find a new team.

As of now, Marved has not announced his next move. It remains unclear whether he will participate in Challengers, join a partnered team as a substitute player, or explore other opportunities in the esports scene.
