2 Important VALORANT Players Confirm Departure from 100 Thieves

100 Thieves Parts Ways with VALORANT Pros

100 Thieves has announced that they have officially parted ways with VALORANT professionals Derrek Ha and Brenden “stellar” McGrath. Both players’ names have been removed from the team’s listing in the VCT Global Contract Database.

Players Joined 100 Thieves in April 2022

Ha and McGrath joined 100 Thieves in April 2022 when former general manager Daniel “ddk” Kapadia and head coach Sean Gares took control of the roster. The team had a rough start to their VCT year but turned things around under their leadership. However, both ddk and Gares have since left the organization, with ddk’s departure being more recent. It is reported that former EG assistant coach Tony “Zikz” Gray will relieve former assistant coach Michael “Mikes” Hockom of his head coaching duties.

Team Has Three Active Roster Members

As of now, 100 Thieves has only three players listed on their active roster in the VCT Americas League: Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk, Sean “bang” Bezerra, and Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban. These players will continue to represent the organization.

100 Thieves has decided to make changes to their player and coaching lineup following their disappointing end to the 2023 season. The team missed the playoffs, suffered a historic upset loss to MIBR, and also lost their opening match to Sentinels at the LCQ.

Opportunities to Pick New Players

100 Thieves will have the opportunity to choose from various players as other NA teams in the VCT Americas League, including Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, and NRG, are reportedly making changes. Additionally, there is a pool of players who competed in Challengers that the organization could consider. However, a report in August suggested that 100 Thieves might reduce their spending in 2024.
