Tundra Esports, PSG.LGD, and beastcoast Struggle in Dota 2 Lima Major
Tundra Esports, PSG.LGD, and beastcoast faced difficulties during the group stage of the Dota 2 Lima Major, sending them to the lower bracket. However, their hopes of redemption were dashed when they were knocked out of the tournament earlier than expected.
Tundra, the champions of The International 2022, stumbled against Team Aster. Despite winning the second match, Tundra couldn’t keep up and was eliminated from the tournament.
China’s last hope, Team Aster, advanced to the next round, setting the stage for a South American showdown between Evil Geniuses and beastcoast. However, EG dominated beastcoast in two 30-minute games.
Both EG and beastcoast stuck to their comfort picks, and EG’s strategy proved successful. Following the series, beastcoast’s position five player, Steven “StingeR” Mamani, faced criticism for allegedly partying the night before their elimination series against EG.
StingeR defended himself, stating that he was simply visiting a local bar to celebrate someone’s birthday and returned to the hotel early without consuming any alcohol.
In the final lower bracket series of the day, LGD was eliminated by Team Spirit. As this was LGD’s first LAN event with its new roster, there is potential for improvement for the legendary organization.
All three teams had their moments at the Lima Major, but unfortunately, they finished without earning any prize money or DPC points, marking a frustrating end to their journeys.
