YouTuber reclaims video following an erroneous DMCA takedown by DrDisrespect

DMCA Copyright Claim Lifted for 8-Bit Eric’s Video Featuring DrDisrespect’s E3 Bathroom Stream

YouTuber 8-Bit Eric recently announced that the DMCA copyright takedown on his video, which was issued by Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm and Superbam, Inc., has been lifted.

The Doc’s E3 Bathroom Stream Video Now Watchable

In a new post, Eric expressed his excitement about his video featuring footage and discussion of The Doc’s E3 bathroom stream being once again watchable. The streamer and his team have removed their copyright claim, but they will be collecting any revenue generated by Eric’s video.

Eric’s Primary Concerns About the Takedown

Eric stated that his main concerns were both the inaccuracy of the takedown and the way it was handled by Disrespect and Superbam. He would have preferred to be contacted by a cease-and-desist from Disrespect’s legal team or someone representing him. He emphasized the importance of handling such matters privately rather than abruptly blocking someone.

Similar Situation in the Past with The Fine Bros

Interestingly, Eric had encountered a similar situation several years ago when YouTubers The Fine Bros blocked one of his videos where he criticized the channel’s attempt to trademark the reaction video genre. Eric made a follow-up video on the controversy, which gained significant attention on Reddit and resulted in thousands of new subscribers.

Despite the initial drama, Eric appreciated how swiftly Disrespect’s party addressed the situation this time. However, he mentioned that he had no contact with Disrespect’s team and received no notification about the video’s reinstatement.
