xQc Returns to Twitch After Temporary Suspension
xQc, the popular variety streamer, is back on Twitch after serving a three-day suspension. He plans to resume streaming as before and engage with his thousands of viewers.
The Suspension and Clarification
Twitch issued the suspension on February 29 after xQc played the game “Strip 4: Classmate Study” and accidentally showed a fully nude profile image of his opponent on stream. This violated Twitch’s Terms of Service, resulting in the temporary ban.
On March 1, Twitch clarified that xQc’s suspension would last for three days, including February 29, and would be accompanied by a strike on his channel.
Twitch’s Moderation Policy
Twitch’s moderation and safety forums mention that temporary suspensions can range from one to 30 days. During the suspension, the streamer is prohibited from accessing or using Twitch’s services. After the suspension is lifted, the account can be used again. Multiple suspensions over time can lead to an indefinite suspension.
xQc’s Acceptance of the Suspension
xQc acknowledged that the ban was a consequence of his own actions and stated that he would accept the three-day suspension without further appeal.
xQc’s Previous Ban and Game Unavailability
This is not the first time xQc faced a ban due to partial nudity on his stream. However, the previous ban was only a few minutes long and not related to a game like “Strip 4.” Since the suspension, the game has become unavailable on Steam, as it was being purchased by xQc’s viewers. The developers were aware of the situation and briefly offered it at a discounted price before taking it down.
Anticipated Return Stream
With over 30,000 viewers on his channel several times on February 29, xQc is likely to attract a similar number of viewers for his return stream on March 4. His average viewership for the past three months has been around 20,000, which may increase due to the anticipation surrounding his return.
