Twitch’s Most-Watched Streamer xQc May Be Leaving Luminosity
The highly popular former Overwatch League pro, xQc, is hinting at a possible departure from his current organization, Luminosity. Luminosity recently tweeted a “Thank You” video, seemingly bidding farewell to xQc. In response, xQc retweeted the post with a blue heart emoji.
Uncertain Departure
Although it seems likely that xQc is leaving Luminosity, neither party has officially confirmed this. Currently, xQc is still listed as a creator on Luminosity’s website, and his social media accounts feature Luminosity branding, including his Twitter and Twitch profiles, which state that he is a “streamer for Luminosity.”
Accomplishments and Success
xQc joined Luminosity in October 2020, shortly after leaving Sentinels. Since then, he has received numerous nominations and awards in the esports and streaming industry. In 2021, he set a new record for hours watched on Twitch in a calendar year, surpassing Ninja’s achievements during the Fortnite hype. He has also consistently been the most-watched streamer on Twitch for the past three years.
Potential Future
It remains uncertain whether xQc will join another esports organization or continue as an independent streamer. Considering his immense popularity and influence, if he were to partner with a new organization, there is a possibility that he may negotiate an ownership stake, similar to other top streamers who have made similar deals with organizations.
