xQc live-streams Breaking Bad on Kick just two days after receiving Dark Knight DMCA notice

XQc Streams Breaking Bad on Kick Despite Warning

Popular streamer xQc recently faced a warning from the Kick platform for streaming The Dark Knight. However, just two days later, he proceeded to stream episodes of Breaking Bad to his followers.

xQc Signs $100 Million Deal with Kick

Last week, on June 16, xQc made headlines when he signed a $100 million agreement with Kick. This non-exclusive deal allows him to continue streaming on Twitch. Along with the financial incentive, xQc was drawn to Kick because it allows him more freedom than Twitch, such as streaming TV shows like Breaking Bad.

Kick Shares Twitch’s Policies

Even though xQc knew that streaming big-budget TV shows for free is not allowed on Twitch, he still decided to stream The Dark Knight on Kick. However, he was promptly notified by Kick staff that he was violating the platform’s DMCA policy.

Risky Behavior Could Lead to a Ban

If xQc continues to stream content that requires intervention from Kick’s legal team, he may risk being banned. However, it is unlikely to be a long-term ban, as Kick would not want to keep their $100 million investment inactive for a significant period. Other streamers who have tested Kick’s ban boundaries have typically only been banned for a day. In fact, even live streaming a sex act resulted in only a 24-hour ban, as demonstrated by Heelmike back in February.

xQc’s Value to Kick

xQc is currently one of Kick’s most valuable assets, as he brings significant viewership to the platform. However, his two DMCA violations in his first week on Kick were likely not the start they had hoped for in their relationship.
