WoW: Fury Warriors and Assassination Rogues to Receive Buffs

Fury Warriors and Assassination Rogues to Receive Buffs in World of Warcraft

Last month’s Race to World First Castle Nathria saw a lack of representation from Fury Warriors and Assassination Rogues. However, starting next week, these classes could become more viable in raid settings.

Blizzard has recently posted some potential changes on its forums for certain classes in World of Warcraft. These changes may result in a few classes getting more playing time in raids.

The buffs, which are not finalized yet, will impact Blood Death Knights, Frost Death Knights, Frost Mages, Windwalker Monks, Brewmaster Monks, Assassination Rogues, and Fury Warriors.

Although Windwalker Monks were considered a top melee DPS during the Race to World First, the use of two-handed weapons was not common. The upcoming damage buff for two-handed weapons aims to provide more flexibility for this specialization.

Meanwhile, the other specs receiving buffs were not utilized in the first two kills of Sire Denathrius, the final boss in the Castle Nathria raid instance. These class adjustments seem to be an attempt to broaden the range of classes suitable for PvE content.

Class Changes:

  • Death Knight
    • Blood: Bone Shield now grants armor equal to 70% of Strength (previously 50%).
    • Frost: All damage is increased by an additional 2% while a two-handed weapon is equipped.
  • Frost Mage: All damage abilities increased by 9%.
  • Monk
    • Windwalker: All damage is increased by an additional 2% while a two-handed weapon is equipped.
    • Brewmaster: All damage is increased by an additional 2% while a two-handed weapon is equipped.
  • Assassination Rogue: All damage abilities increased by 8%.
  • Fury Warrior
    • All damage abilities increased by 8%, except for Bladestorm and Dragon Roar.
    • Meat Cleaver talent now increases Whirlwind’s damage by 25% (previously 30%).
