World of Warcraft: Shadowlands enters beta testing phase, confirms Blizzard

The World of Warcraft Shadowlands Expansion Officially Enters Beta Testing

The highly anticipated World of Warcraft Shadowlands expansion has officially moved into beta testing today. This news was announced by one of WoW’s community managers on the Blizzard forums.

The transition from alpha to beta comes just one week after WoW developers mentioned in a livestream video that beta testing would begin this week. However, the exact day of the week was not specified at that time.

Interestingly, some players and streamers had already noticed the transition before Blizzard’s official announcement. They observed that the “Shadowlands Alpha” tab in their Battle.net client had been changed to “Shadowlands Beta.”

On his stream, renowned Twitch WoW content creator Asmongold revealed the early transition from alpha to beta. However, despite being able to log into the beta, he encountered a message indicating that the servers were offline.

Fortunately, the server downtime was brief. As of now, the beta servers are up and running, and Asmongold has started streaming the new content.

In last week’s livestream, WoW game director Ion Hazzikostas mentioned that the introduction of the beta would offer players a more complete testing experience. While the game is still a work in progress, most of its features should be playable during the beta phase. Prior to today, Blizzard was only testing a few specific elements of the game at a time in the alpha.
