Who is LazarBeam? Get to know the beloved Australian YouTube sensation

Lannan “LazarBeam” Eacott: The Australian YouTuber Who Took the Gaming World by Storm

LazarBeam, the Australian YouTuber who gained fame during the rise of Fortnite’s popularity in 2018, had an interesting journey on the platform before that.

Before his rise to fame, LazarBeam dropped out of high school at 15 to work in his family’s construction business. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for creating content on YouTube.

His first YouTube channel, called “CrushSlash,” focused on slow-motion building demolition videos. Unfortunately, his camera was stolen, forcing him to stop creating content.

But LazarBeam didn’t give up. In 2015, he started a new channel called “LazarBeam” and shifted his focus to general gaming content.

LazarBeam became synonymous with Fortnite and saw a significant increase in viewership. By April 2019, he had reached 10 million subscribers and became the third-most-subscribed Fortnite content creator on YouTube by July 2019.

In January 2020, LazarBeam signed an exclusivity deal with YouTube, ending his separate Twitch streams of Fortnite.

Epic Games recognized LazarBeam’s influence on Fortnite by giving him his own in-game skin in March 2021.
