What is a Seiso VTuber?
Seiso VTubers are wholesome and innocent virtual streamers who avoid crude humor and inappropriate content. They often present themselves as cute and calm, with a soft-spoken voice. While their models can still be sexy or scary, it’s their personality that defines them as Seiso.
Origin of the Term “Seiso” for VTubers
The term “Seiso” originated as a way to describe VTubers who were considered pure and clean. It gained popularity with the rise of VTubing and was used to jokingly describe VTubers who were the opposite of Seiso. This concept was further embraced by other VTubers, who ironically referred to themselves as Seiso. The song “SEISO” by Nyatasha Nyanners is a perfect example of this trend.
However, being referred to as “bottom left” became a derogatory term signifying the opposite of Seiso, and it sparked controversy within the Hololive English Myth community. The term was later explained by Takanashi Kiara on her talk-show-inspired segment HOLOTALK.
