What caused BruceDropEmOff to depart from OTK?

BruceDropEmOff Departs from OTK Organization Amidst Controversy

In a surprising turn of events, BruceDropEmOff has announced his departure from the esports organization One True King (OTK). Although the reasons behind his departure were not initially clear, Bruce took to Twitch to express his frustration.

This marks the third creator to leave OTK since mid-December, following Rich Campbell’s resignation due to allegations of sexual assault and Jschlatt’s decision to part ways with the organization.

While Bruce did not provide much explanation on Twitter, he addressed the issue during his livestream on Twitch, calling out one of the organization’s co-owners for their alleged involvement in a sexual assault cover-up.

Bruce’s decision to leave OTK seems to stem from two main factors. Firstly, as the only streamer representing Black culture within the organization, he felt an added pressure in his position.

He stated, “It always felt like a family until it didn’t, and that’s not their fault. The reason I left is because I didn’t want to be the Black person that was going to carry them to triumph and hold the sword and take all the heat.”

Furthermore, Bruce became frustrated with the recent controversies involving Mizkif and Rich Campbell, feeling the need to address the personal issues of others because of his affiliation with OTK.

Bruce had collaborated with Mizkif following the alleged cover-up scandal that placed him on probation with OTK. However, the backlash from this collaboration ultimately contributed to his decision to leave.

“I knew it was the right decision in my gut because there was nothing that was telling me to stay,” Bruce explained. “I couldn’t come up with one reason to want to stay. I helped the best I could. I stayed on the team after two fucking things that I had to cover on that was none of my business, none of my business at all because I see the good in the org. There are good people that y’all don’t even know behind the scenes.”
