VTuber Obake PAM sheds light on the identity of Polar, a virtual pop singer

Polar: The Mysterious Virtual Pop Star

There’s a new virtual star in town, and her name is Polar. According to a press release, Polar is a digital influencer with a massive following on TikTok and YouTube. She even participated in the Solar Sounds Festival, which attracted millions of visitors.

However, many people, including VTuber Obake PAM, were puzzled by the sudden rise of Polar. How could she have millions of followers without anyone in the VTuber community knowing about her?

The Origins of Polar

VTuber Obake PAM did some research and discovered that Polar originated from the virtual world game called Avakin Life. She was featured in the game’s annual Solar Sounds Festival. While this confirmed Polar’s existence, PAM still wondered how she gained such a massive following without any buzz in the VTuber community.

To find the answer, PAM delved into TheSoul Publishing, the company behind Polar. TheSoul Publishing is known for channels like 5 Minute Crafts, which generate high viewership despite producing low-quality content. Now, it seems they have conquered TikTok with Polar.

According to PAM’s findings, Polar’s TikTok videos receive a significant number of views but not many followers. This led PAM to accuse Polar of promoting her videos as ads by paying a fee. While this practice is not necessarily wrong, claiming that Polar’s views are solely due to her popularity raises concerns among PAM and other VTubers.

The Controversy Surrounding Polar

Polar’s song “Close To You” has amassed a staggering 7.48 million views, but the comments tell a different story. Most comments criticize the song, with some suggesting it sounds better on mute or jokingly claiming it made them want to end their lives.

However, it’s not just the music that receives backlash. Polar’s design and animation also face criticism. Many feel that VTubers put in more effort and utilize motion capture technology, yet they aren’t pushed as aggressively by the media to gain popularity. Polar’s strange dancing in her videos doesn’t help her case either.

The Industry Plant Theory

Most articles about Polar seem to be press releases, some of which are promoted by Polar herself. This has fueled suspicions that she is merely an industry plant capitalizing on the VTuber trend.
