VTuber agency Tsunderia closes down due to financial difficulties, leaving 6 VTubers without contracts

VTuber Agency Tsunderia Shuts Down, Talents Enter Free Agency Market

The VTuber agency Tsunderia has ceased all streaming operations, and its six remaining talents will hit the free agency market in February.

The Early Pioneer of Western VTubing

Tsunderia, a California-based agency, was one of the first groups to focus on English-speaking VTubers in the western scene. They entered the scene in June 2020, predating even Hololive’s English branch by almost three months.

Unfortunately, due to limited resources, Tsunderia is unable to continue its operations. The agency spokesperson, PPP, expressed disappointment that they won’t be able to reach their three-year anniversary milestone.

The agency has confirmed that its remaining VTubers will go independent while retaining their current identities and channels. Fans can continue supporting the talents through their Discord, TsunDream.

The Importance of Respect and Support

PPP urges fans to be respectful to both current and former VTubers and to avoid speculation in their communities.

Individuality and Independence

The now independent VTuber, Chikafuji Lisa, expresses gratitude for her time at Tsunderia but ultimately decided to leave due to being given more responsibilities than she could handle.

In the lead-up to Tsunderia’s dissolution, the agency released two managing staff members, Rei and Myst, and also parted ways with Inukai Purin, their most prominent remaining streaming talent.

Not every released star plans to join another agency. Inukai Purin stated during a follow-up stream that she intends to remain independent and asked her fans not to worry.

Preparing for a New Journey

Purin shares her goal of streaming and having fun with everyone, emphasizing that she can still achieve that goal as an independent VTuber.

A Message to Western VTuber Streaming Orgs

Tsunderia’s closure comes as a surprise to fans, especially considering its financial reasons. This should serve as a warning for similarly sized VTuber streaming organizations operating in the western VTuber space, considering the predicted economic turbulence in the world.
