Valkyrae sparks YouTube vs. Twitch showdown at TwitchCon, Sykkuno reveals

TwitchCon: YouTube Stars Valkyrae, Fuslie, and Sykkuno Steal the Show

TwitchCon is a celebration of Twitch streamers and culture, but that doesn’t mean YouTube stars can’t join in on the fun. In fact, former Amazon platform streamers Leslie “Fuslie” Fu, Sykkuno, and Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter made a special appearance at the event.

And it’s safe to say that their star power was undeniable, no matter their affiliation with Twitch.

Valkyrae’s massive presence unintentionally drew a lot of attention away from other streamers’ meet-and-greets, making Sykkuno feel bad for them. He recounted how lines of fans eagerly waiting to meet their favorite streamers suddenly shifted to Valkyrae’s line, leaving the others feeling left behind.

Sykkuno expressed how awkward the situation was and believed that other streamers, especially smaller ones, resented them for unintentionally stealing their thunder.

“It was bad. I feel like other streamers just hated us. They absolutely hated us,” he admitted.

However, Sykkuno sympathized with the other streamers, imagining how he would feel if he were in their shoes. And he understood their disappointment and frustration.

He shared, “How bad would it feel, guys, if you’re in line for your meet and greet, and there are a hundred people waiting for you. But then, when Valkyrae walks out, everyone abandons your line and rushes to hers. It just makes you feel bad.”

“It was just like, ‘Oh man. That feels bad. That feels kind of bad,'” he added.

Ironically, that wasn’t the only mishap the YouTube trio encountered at the convention.

Sykkuno found himself getting kicked out after attempting to cut into Kkatamina’s meet-and-greet line. Despite claiming to be her friend, security didn’t believe him and instructed him to wait in line like everyone else. As people started recognizing him, a crowd formed, blocking the pathway, and eventually leading to his removal by security.

Thankfully, Sykkuno was able to return the following day without any issues. It goes to show that being a YouTube superstar at a Twitch convention isn’t always easy.
