Valheim Surpasses 5 Million Copies Sold in Just One Month

The sandbox survival game Valheim, developed by Iron Gate Studio, has reached a remarkable milestone of five million copies sold, as announced by the developer today.


With an affordable price of $19.99 on Steam for Windows systems, this Viking-themed game has garnered immense popularity within the gaming community since its release on February 2.

Within just one month, players have spent an astonishing cumulative total of 15,000-plus years playing Valheim. Notably, the game reached four million copies sold for its early access version just one week ago, following the milestone of three million copies on February 19.

Valheim has secured a position among the top-15 categories on Twitch, with a whopping 9.1 million hours watched in the past week, as reported by the Twitch tracking website SullyGnome.

Since the start of early access, Valheim has accumulated an impressive 37.7 million hours of streaming on Twitch, solidifying its position as the 14th most-watched category on the platform.

When it comes to content creators, CohhCarnage stands out as the most-watched, with an impressive 1.9 million hours watched during 133 hours of airtime. Other notable content creators who have played the game include Shroud, Ludwig, Sykkuno, Gronkh, Alanzoka, and Hanryang.

The world of Valheim continues to evolve, with players already completing the available content. However, Iron Gate Studio has an exciting content plan for 2021, which includes four updates and a list of potential content patches, all happening “If Odin Wills It.”
