Understanding the Functionality of Coins in TikTok LIVE Studio

TikTok Launches New Streaming Software: TikTok LIVE Studio

TikTok, a major player in the streaming industry, has released its new desktop streaming software called TikTok LIVE Studio. This beta version of the program is now available for download for all PC users with a TikTok account.

Easy Setup and Customization

Once installed, users can easily set up a basic streaming overlay or import their settings from other programs like OBS.

Gifting Currency: Coins

For over a year, TikTok has been using Coins as a gifting currency. Coins allow viewers to show support to their favorite creators during TikTok livestreams. Viewers who are over 18 can purchase Coins and convert them into virtual gifts while watching livestreams on the mobile app or desktop website.

Purchasing Coins

Viewers can purchase Coins either through the mobile app or the Recharge page on the TikTok website. Approximately 10 Coins can be acquired per dollar spent. First-time buyers on the mobile app can get a special gift box set containing 120 Coins worth of virtual gifts for just $0.99.

A Variety of Virtual Gifts

Once purchased, viewers can choose from a wide range of virtual gifts, including items, emojis, and messages of support. These gifts can range from as little as one Coin for a single rose to 35,000 Coins for a “TikTok Universe” icon. The number of gifts a user earns during a livestream determines the amount of Diamonds they acquire. Diamonds are virtual credits that can be exchanged for monetary compensation.

Currently, the TikTok LIVE Studio program is in beta, with limited features for users. They can turn gifting on or off, but their Coin or Diamond balance can only be viewed on the mobile app or desktop website.
