Twitch unveils a dedicated directory for esports content

Twitch Launches New Esports Directory for Easy Viewing

Twitch, the popular streaming platform, has introduced a new directory specifically designed for esports competitions and content. This new directory aims to make it easier for viewers to find and watch their favorite esports events.

In the past, it was sometimes difficult for viewers to navigate through the website and find esports content. While sorting by category and seeing followed channels was possible, identifying channels broadcasting esports-related content wasn’t always clear.

Find Esports Events and Pro Players Easily

The new esports directory on Twitch is the solution to this problem. It allows casual esports fans to easily access competition broadcasts and discover new esports content. This directory will include top-level competitions such as ESL Katowice and the League of Legends World Championship, as well as events hosted by Twitch’s community-driven program, Twitch Rivals.

When you visit the directory, you’ll see two rows of subcategories filled with titles and a section featuring highlighted live matches. It gives the feeling of the Twitch homepage, but exclusively for esports.

Increasing Spotlight on Esports Competitions

By launching this new directory, Twitch aims to put a spotlight on esports competitions and attract event organizers to collaborate with the platform. This move comes after Activision Blizzard decided to stream all its esports competitions on YouTube, as streaming platforms compete for exclusive streaming rights deals with top influencers and esports leagues.
